This spot in Baltimore Highlands is an excellent location. It is within walking distance to restaurants, groceries stores and bus lines. For an even greater shopping selection, you can walk to Aldi and Dollar Tree where you will find a variety of food and home goods at reasonable prices.
Patterson Park
It is only 10 minutes to Patterson Park which has lots of grass, large trees, paved walkways, historic battle sites, a lake, playgrounds, a swimming pool, an ice skating rink and otherĀ attractions. Although it is not the largest park in the city, it earned its nickname – Best Backyard in Baltimore – for good reason.
Patterson Park has two playgrounds. The first, near the intersection of Linwood Avenue and East Pratt Street, has swings for all ages, and two play areas. The second, known as the “Castle” playground, is located near Eastern Avenue between Milton and Montford Avenues. It features row house facades, a Bromo-Seltzer clock tower and a gazebo similar to the Music Pavilion, one of the lost landmarks of Patterson Park. The space is completely fenced-in and includes separate play spaces for toddlers and older children plus an open area for running around. The slides and climbing equipment connect into the wall, making them handicap accessible.
If you can not get away this year, why not consider a staycation? It is a stay-at-home vacation and can include activities at Patterson Park.
